About Tipuana
Tipuana Bed and Breakfast is situated in Grahamstown,
which forms part of one of the most diverse ecological
regions in South Africa, with thousands of hectares
devoted to nature and game conservation and a history
seeped in forts, conflict and strife.
We offer two comfortably
furnished flats. Each of the flats have two bedrooms.
The main bedroom in Flat one has two beds together for a
couple and Flat two has a double bed. In the second
bedrooms are two single beds each. Each flat is equipped with a
TV in each room, a kitchen, a bathroom, a hairdryer and
a private entrance.
The
guests have access to a braai area and a swimming pool.
Secure parking with an electric fence is available on
the premises.
Grahamstown lies at the
intersection of four very different climatic zones and
its unpredictable weather is part of the excitement of
the annual arts festival, which takes place in the
middle of winter. The Thomas Baines Nature Reserve,
which lies just outside the city, and the Great Fish
River Reserve, about 35 km away, both provide a wide
variety of bird life.
Grahamstown has its own
hiking trail which is a two-day circular trail starting
and ending in the city, and there are two other shorter
walking trails in town, the Dassie Krantz and Gowie
Kloof.
Located on Hellier Street in
Grahamstown, Tipuana Bed and Breakfast offers both B&B
and self catering accommodation and has been graded
three ‘pineapples’ by the Grahamstown Hospitality Guild.
