"Dorothy welcomed us as one would welcome an old friend. After a 10 hour trip a warm reception is more than welcome. We found the rooms very comfortable and well-equipped - equipped for all seasons. The beds are very comfortable and are assuring of a good nights sleep with great privacy afforded"

"We found this establishment to be not only comfortable, but spacious as well. The two of us were given a room that accommodated 4, nevertheless we were invited to use the space. There is a separate kitchen and dining area distinct from the places where we slept. Sometimes you go to a B&B and you realise it is part of someone's house, and that make you feel obliged to tidy up after yourself, however Mrs Robinson told us clearly not to wash up or make beds, Rita would be in to do that for us, and Rita did an excellent job. Visiting Grahamstown, don't hesitate to book in at the Tipiana."
 
A quaint just-what-you-need stay

"Dorothy was incredibly welcoming. I loved the small gestures: milk in the fridge, tea and coffee provided, and the delicious homemade biscuits. Everything was neat and comfortable, a perfect place for the overnight stop that I needed whilst travelling from Durban to Cape Town."

"Our one night stay at Tipuana Bed & Breakfast felt like a one night visit at old friends. I rushed into Grahamstown with 2 excited teenage girls to attend a local schools matric farewell. This entailed in and out / up and down / coming and going to dressings, make-up, photo shoots and after parties until 4am.... I felt at home and independent at Tipuana, where we were able to let ourselves in and out as we needed and were grateful for the warm cuppa and comfy bed at the end of the hectic evening. Dorothy welcomed us with that motherly graciousness that makes you want to come back again and again, where you feel like the door is always open ... Thank-you for keeping your door open for us Dorothy during our busy and exciting stay at Tipuana. I can't wait to visit in the Spring when the Tipuana trees are in bloom."
 
Treated like queens

We were treated like queens, not in our everyday life we wake up and not do beds etc. Dorothy and her stuff are natural hostess. They have qualities to make you feel home away from home. "I can warmly recommend Tipuana. The owner, Mrs Dorothy personally replied to my booking and other enquiries. The unit was perfect when travelling with the children offering basic self-catering facilities with a swimming pool, fridge, 2 hot plates and a microwave. The rooms were not luxury but clean and functional. I will stay again. "
